Applications
An Ethernet to Fiber Media Converter can also be used where there is high level of electromagnetic interference or EMI which is a common phenomenon found in industrial plants. This interference can cause corruption of data over copper-based ethernet links. Data transmitted over fiber optic cable however is completely immune to this type of noise. An Ethernet to Fiber Optic Converter therefore enables you to inter-connect your copper-ethernet devices over fiber ensuring optimal data transmission across the plant floor.

POE Fiber Media Converters Introduction
POE (Power over Ethernet) fiber media converter products include the 10/100M PoE media converters, 10/100/1000M Gigabit PoE media converters, POE Switches. This full line of features rich Power-over-Ethernet media converters transparently connect copper to fiber while providing power over Ethernet to standard based POE compliant devices such as IP cameras, VoIP phones and wireless access points. These solutions take PoE beyond the 100 meters distance that has traditionally limited power over Ethernet installations.
PoE media converter combines data on one cable, and connects to network devices through an RJ45 port that injects the power from power sourcing equipment such as a PoE switch or midspan PoE injectors. The PoE media converters provides a flexible and convenient means of powering devices that are located in our-of-the-way locations, and saving money by eliminating the expense and difficulty of direct electrical wiring.
PoE Ethernet to Fiber Converter provides an economical path to extend the distance of an existing copper network with fiber cabling. According to the TIA/EIA 568-5-A standard for category 5e cable, the maximum length for a cable segment is 100 meter, and PoE power injector do not increase the distance of the date link. To overcome the distance and bandwidth limitation of UTP cabling, fiber optic cabling is the best solutions, by using the POE media converter, the fiber is converts to copper and sends DC power to the PoE compliant devices over the UTP cabling.
