Applications
An Ethernet to Fiber Media Converter can also be used where there is high level of electromagnetic interference or EMI which is a common phenomenon found in industrial plants. This interference can cause corruption of data over copper-based ethernet links. Data transmitted over fiber optic cable however is completely immune to this type of noise. An Ethernet to Fiber Optic Converter therefore enables you to inter-connect your copper-ethernet devices over fiber ensuring optimal data transmission across the plant floor.

Gigabit Fiber Media Converter Overview
1000M fiber optic media converter is 1000Mbps intelligent adaptive fast Ethernet media converter. It can extent the transmission distance of a network from 1000m over copper wires to 60km in which there is no help of any other converter.
And it can implement data transmission between twisted pair electrical signals and optical signals which are the two types of network connection media. Fiber media converter can transform the transmission media of Ethernet signal from CAT5 to optical fiber. It can extend the transmission distance to several kilometers or hundred kilometers.
Using media converter is a economical solution to achieve long distance transmission based on current status. Media converters that use fibre optics can support far longer cable distances than with the traditional copper cables, as much as two hundred times greater! It is possible to incorporate a Gigabit Ethernet connection with multimode fibers that supports distances up to three thousand metres.
Some tips for you, fiber optic converters should be placed in a secure location so that they cannot be disturbed by people or machinery. If the converter is removed or broken, each computer connected to the fiber optic cable would lose its internet connection. Extra care should be given to these network solutions.
Furthermore, it is important to keep converters in controlled temperature rooms that never get too hot or too cold because they contain special materials that only work properly in specific temperature ranges.
