SC Fiber Optic Connector Overview
Fiber Optic connector has been widely used in fiber optic transmission lines, fiber optic patch panels and fiber-optic test instruments and meters. The Fiber Connector is one of the most essential components for fiber optic communication. It mate or connect with optical devices, modules, and fibers. Fiber connector is also the key part used in fiber Patch cord and fiber Pigtail.
SC fiber products are commonly seen and SC fiber optic connectors are found on many equipment and cable assemblies. SC fiber optic connector features its easy operation, good accuracy and low cost. Below is a drawing for the simplex SC fiber optic connector.
SC fiber optic connector is a snap-in connector also with a 2.5 mm ferrule that is widely used for its’ excellent performance. It was the connector standardized in TIA-568-A, but was not widely used at first because it was twice as expensive as a ST fiber optic connector. Now it’s only a bit more expensive and much more common. It’s a snap-in connector that latches with a simple push-pull motion. It is also available in a duplex configuration.
