Applications
An Ethernet to Fiber Media Converter can also be used where there is high level of electromagnetic interference or EMI which is a common phenomenon found in industrial plants. This interference can cause corruption of data over copper-based ethernet links. Data transmitted over fiber optic cable however is completely immune to this type of noise. An Ethernet to Fiber Optic Converter therefore enables you to inter-connect your copper-ethernet devices over fiber ensuring optimal data transmission across the plant floor.

Sopto Industrial Media Converter Advantages
Industrial Media Converter by Sopto Technology is designed to help companies upgrade control system communications with minimal downtime. Once the converters are installed, companies can run Remote I/O and EtherNet/IP (an ODVA Ethernet protocol) data simultaneously on the same cable. This will allow upgrade of individual nodes at a pace that makes sense for the application.
The Industrial Media Converters units can be plugged and played with no configuration needed. The converters offer 57.6 K and 115.2 K communication rates and a maximum distance of 1,300 ft with simultaneous Ethernet and A-B Remote I/O data. Repeaters are available for networks with distances up to 10,000 ft.
