How to Reinstall a Network Adapter Driver?

Adapters sometimes must be reinstalled because of a problem with either the hardware itself or because there was a problem during installation. Reinstalling a network adapter is as easy as reconnecting the adapter and clicking on a few buttons.

Reinstallation Instructions
1. Right-click "My Computer" for Windows XP and older versions or "Computer" for Windows Vista in the Windows start menu. Select "Manage."
2. Click "Device Manager" under "System Tools."
3. Click the expand button next to "Network Adapters." Right-click the network adapter you wish to reinstall and click "Uninstall." Click "OK" to confirm the decision.
4. Select "Yes" to restart your computer. Windows will typically automatically reinstall your network driver upon restart by searching and installing the hardware. Disconnect the network adapter and plug it back into your computer if Windows does not automatically install the driver.
