Multiplexer Used in Multiplexing

 

In telecommunications and computer networks, multiplexing (also called muxing) is a technique by which multiple analog message signals or digital data streams are combined into one signal more than a shared medium. The aim is always to share a pricey resource. For example, in telecommunications, several phone calls could be carried using one wire.

 

The multiplexed signal is transmitted on the communication channel, which can be an actual transmission medium.
