How to Manage Cables

Unsightly wire and cable is the shortcoming of any home theater or surround sound system, make the cable management priority once your system is up and running. Fortunately, there are many solutions for cable management in today's market.

With minimal effort, you can run your cable in carpet, along the wall, in the crown molding and interiors, or you can use such as to move, a pin and relationships to conceal your cable. You can also choose to use a low-key speaker wire is suitable for painting. There are a few simple guidelines to keep in mind as you begin your cable concealment project:

Make sure all of your connections are correct before closing your zip ties; because once you lock them down they would need to be cut off to add or remove wires. A good alternative (although a bit pricier) is to use Velcro-style ties, which can be reused or adjusted as often as you need.

Tacks need to be the right size and shape for the wire you are concealing. Keep in mind that different types of cables may need different mechanism in order to avoid damaging the cable. It may help to take a sample of your cables with you when you go shopping for tacks. Be careful not to pierce the cable when hammering your tacks into place. If you are not able to use the nail-on tacks, there are products designed with adhesive backing that can stick to the wall, baseboard or furniture. Raceways are also great for cable management because they are flexible and often can be painted to match your decor. 

They can be placed in a baseboard and work when you want to pick up your cable does not delete the clip, pull the carpet or modify your walls. Just make sure the runway is large enough to accommodate all of your cable no crowds together is too tightly.
