The popular and low-cost GBIC fiber optic transceiver. The (Gigabit Interface Converter) GBIC fiber optic transceiver is an international standard interchangeable product which supports hot-plug. GBIC module is the interface device which is able to convert the gigabit electric signal into the optical signal.
The products which adopt GBIC interface are welcomed by many equipment manufacturers, integrators, contractors and end customers in the optical communication industry for their flexible interchange and hot-plug.
Generally, the GBIC module can be divided into the common cascade GBIC module and the stack dedicated GBIC modules.
The common cascade GBIC modules include the 1000Base-T GBIC module, 1000Base-SX GBIC module, 1000Base-LX/LH GBIC module and 1000Base-ZX GBIC module. And the stack dedicated GBIC module is mainly used to realize the low-cost connection between switches.
