The fibre ribbons, single-mode type, are positioned in the slotted core made of HOPE. A steel wire or a steel rope locates in the center of core as a metallic strength member. The slotted core is wrapped with a waterproof tape helical. Over the waterproof tape, an APL (Aluminum Polyethylene Laminate) is applied longitudinally. Then the cable is completed with a polyethylene (PE) sheath. A rip cord is placed between the APL and the waterproof tape in order to rip the cable easily.

Characteristics

  1. Through delicate structure design and process control, the slotted core ribbon cable possesses good optical, mechanical and environmental performance

  2. The application of water expansible waterproof tape ensures the water blocking performance

  3. The dry core structure has overcome the shortage that the filling compound is difficult to clean, which increases the splicing efficiency and makes installation and maintenance easier

  4. Good crush-resistance performance provides good protection to fiber ribbons

  5. Dense fibre packing, relatively small diameter, light weight and installation friendliness

  6. The fibre branching is easy after the slotted core is cut open

  7. The rip cord placed into the cable facilitates ripping the cable

Application

GVDGA cable possesses advantages like dense fibre packing, good crush-resistance and high splicing efficiency. It can fully meet the requests on installation and transmission capacity set by the modern telecommunications technologies (e.g. FTTB, FTTH, etc.), and its’ especially applicable in the relay networks and access networks…
