The intelligent OC3 SFP/STM-1 SFP fiber optic transceiver supports the SONET/SDH over Packet (TSoP) protocol. And this intelligent OC3 SFP/STM-1 SFP fiber optic transceiver is able to convert the SONET/SDH signal into the packet signal so that the OC3 SFP/STM-1 SFP module transmits the 155M OC33/STM-1 signal directly in any routers and packet switches.
The network operators are converting the network with multiple-protocol into the network with a single protocol. For example, in the mobile support network, the DS1/E1 signal could be transmitted by SAToP protocol. And the operators will need to apply the existing SONET/SDH signal into the packet network next step.
At present, the intelligent SFP fiber optic module supports the dual-fiber and single-fiber application. In addition, the intelligent OC3 SFP/STM-1 SFP fiber optic transceiver supports the transmission distance which ups to 80km.
