What is the difference among fiber optical jumper wire, pigtail and fiber connector?

Fiber optical jumper wire is used as jumper wiring to connect equipment and fiber optic cabling link. It is with heavy protective layer and usually used for connecting optical transceiver and terminal box.

Pigtail, only has one connector on one side, the other side is section of fiber core which is connected with other fiber core by welding, it is usually in terminal box used for connecting fiber and optical transceiver (coupler, fiber jumper and etc. will be used).

Fiber connector is the component using between fibers’ demolition connection. The basic requirements for fiber connector are: it minutely connects the two end faces, so as the light energy can maximum coupling from lunching fiber to receiving fiber and minimum the inflections for system caused by its intervention to fiber. To some degree, fiber connector inflects the reliability and performance of optical transmission system.
