100M/gigabit SFP transceiver, difference, compatibility
Somebody may think that the difference between gigabit SFP transceiver and 100M SFP transceiver is the data rate. So, the gigabit H3C compatible SFP transceiver can be used as the 100M SFP transceiver. That is absolutely wrong.
Simply speaking, the gigabit SFP transceiver supports Gigabit Ethernet; and the 100M SFP transceiver supports Fast Ethernet. And the Gigabit Ethernet and Fast Ethernet support different protocols and standards. If we likened the Gigabit Ethernet to an apple, the Fast Ethernet may be a pear. Therefore, we can't simply use the gigabit H3C compatible SFP transceiver as the 100M SFP transceiver.
Somebody else may think out other method to realize this idea. But, this isn’t our topic. If you would like to purchase the gigabit H3C compatible SFP transceivers or other fiber optic products, like SC/LC fiber optic adapters, fiber optic attenuators or others, please consult our online customer services.
