Company Info
Can optical transceiver module of 10km be connected with that of 40km?
Firstly, form-factors should match with each other, like SFP with SFP, OLT with ONU.
Secondly, the wavelengths should also match with each other. And Module A’s wavelength should be accepted by the range of that of Module B and vice versa.
In addition, we should also take into account its transmission distance, dispersion and its efficiency.
If 10km transceiver module transmits over 15km, then it will fail to connect. If transmission optical power is smaller than its receiver sensitivity of its counterpart, then it will fail to connect too.
