Features of fiber jumper wire

Compared with twisted-pair and coaxial cable, fiber jumper wire has the following prominent features:

1.    Small attenuation: signal attenuation is much smaller when transmitted in fiber jumper wire than in coaxial cable and can keep constant broadly.

2.    Bandwidth: the transmission distance can reach to dozens of kilometers and 2Gbps transmission speed while coaxial cables’ farthest transmission distance is 1 kilometer and the maximum rate is several hundred Mbps, and only a few Mbps for twisted-pair cables.

3.    The distance between repeaters is long: only fewer repeaters are needed and low bit error rate.

4.    Small and light: compared with coaxial cable, the diameter of fiber jumper wire is only its 1/10 or even smaller.

5.    Electromagnetic isolation: the signal in jumper wire transmits in the forms of fiber signal not telecom signal, so the system will not be influenced by the magnetic field, pulse noise and crosstalk and etc. from outside.
