Fujitsu has developed a miniaturization 4X25Gbps optical transce
Recently, Fujitsu Laboratories announced the development of miniaturized economic 4X25Gbps optical transceiver module direct at the data center market. The optical transceiver module adopted the drive IC and packaging structures improved by Fujitsu. Compared to the past which can only transmit 10Gbps-14 Gbps and with relatively large volume server interconnect modules, this new 25Gbps module is no doubt good news for the user. Fujitsu said that the size of their newly developed 4X25Gbps module is 47.8x16x 21.6 mm, of which the lens size is 22X9X0.86mm, less than one tenth of the size of a traditional lens, the size of the entire module is only one-third of the traditional modules. Fujitsu said that their major technological breakthrough is steep transmit waveform, and simultaneous inhibition of multiple reflection waveform degradation. Fujitsu also uses a flexible circuit board and the film lens technology to reduce the module size.
