4G Fibre Channel SFP Transceiver
4G FC SFP transceivers are high performance, cost effective modules and compatible with SFP Multi-Source Agreement (MSA) and SFF-8472. Sopto’s SPT-P854G-S3xD, SPT-P134G-XXxD, SPT-P154G-40D and SPT-P154G-80D transceiver modules are designed for 4G Fiber Channel applications. And all these 4G FC SFP modules are 100% compatible with your branding devices.
SPT-P854G-S3xD transceiver modules support 500m on 50/125µm MMF, 300m on 62.5/125µm MMF by using 850nm VCSEL laser.
SPT-P134G-XXxD transceiver modules support link length of 2km/5km/10km/20km/30km on SMF by using 1310nm DFB laser.
SPT-P154G-40D and SPT-P154G-80D modules support transmission distance of 40km/80km on SMF by using 1550nm DFB laser.

The SFP transceiver is not standardized by any official standards body, but rather is specified by a multi-source agreement (MSA) among competing manufacturers.
As a practical matter, some networking equipment manufacturers engage in vendor lock-in practices whereby they deliberately break compatibility with "generic" SFPs by adding a check in the device's firmware that will enable only the vendor's own modules.
For example, in 2003 during a routine Internet Operating System (IOS) update on their Catalyst line of switches, Cisco added a feature that would cause the switch to reject optical modules that were not deemed ‘Cisco brand.
