Introduction of BiDi Transceivers
BiDi Transceivers can be classified into BiDi SFP, BiDi SFP+, BiDi XFP and BiDi GBIC modules.
BiDi SFP Transceivers
BiDi means Bi-directional. Using of WDM technology, transmit and receive optical information on separate wavelength through only one single fiber. Generally, optical module has two ports, TX for the transmit port, the RX for receive port; but BiDi transceiver has only one port to complete the 1310nm optical signal transmitting and 1550nm optical signal receiver, or vice versa. Therefore, BiDi transceiver modules must be used in pairs and the greatest advantage is to save fiber optic resources.
BiDi SFP Features:
Single LC or SC connector
TX and RX have two different wavelengths (usually 1310/1550nm and 1550/1310nm)
Up to 10 km, 20 km or 40 km transmission on SM fiber
Compliant to SFP MSA and SFF-8472
Hot-Pluggable SFP footprint
Optical LC interface for bi-directional operation
Compliant with EU RoHS 6 Environmental Requirements
BiDi SFP Applications:
Ethernet, Fiber Channel
Data Communication
Routers and switches
Industrial control links and media converters
BiDi SFP+ Transceivers
BIDI SFP+ transceiver is enhanced small form-factor pluggable fiber transceiver designed for bi-directional 10G serial optical data communications. It can work over one fiber using WDM technology sharing transmission directions into wavelengths of 1270nm and 1330nm and works distance up to 10km, 20 km, 40km or 60km.
BiDi SFP+ Features:
One single fiber to transmit and receive simultaneously
Data rate up to 10G
Up to 20 km, 40 km or 60 km transmission on SM fiber
Wavelength of 1270nm/1330nm
+3.3V single power supply
LC interface for bi-directional operation
Operating temperature:0~70℃(commercial ), -40~85℃(industrial)
Support hot-pluggable
DDM function
Compliant with RoHS
Power consumption : <2W
BiDi SFP+ Applications:10Gbase Ethernet, 10G Fiber Channel
BiDi XFP Transceivers
10G BiDi XFP series transceivers are designed for bi-directional 10G serial optical data communications such as IEEE 802.3ae 10GBASE-BX by using 1330(1270nm) transmitter and 1270(1330) nm receiver. A wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) splitter will be integrated into the BiDi XFP transceiver module to split the 1270-nm and 1330-nm light paths.
BiDi XFP Features:
Up to 10Gbps data rate
Up to 20 km, 40 km or 60 km transmission on SM fiber
Wavelength of 1270nm/1330nm
Hot-pluggable XFP footprint
RoHS compliant
Power consumption <2W
Case operating temperature: -5 ºC~70ºC
BiDi XFP Applications:10GBase Ethernet
BiDi GBIC Transceivers
A WDM gigabit interface converter (GBIC) is a standard for transceivers, commonly used for Gigabit Ethernet and fibre channel.
Cozlink supplies BIDI GBIC transceivers from 20km to 80km. All BIDI GBIC modules are fully compatible with Cisco, HP, Juniper, Dell and other brands.
BiDi GBIC Features:
Dual data rate of 1.25G /1.0625G
Wavelength of 1310nm/1490nm/1550nm
RoHS compliant
+3.3V/5Vsingle power supply
Case operating temperature: 0ºC~70ºC
BiDi GBIC Applications:
Switch to Switch interface
Router/Server interface
Switched backplane applications
Other optical transmission systems
